What is Pathoura?
Pathoura is an audio-first guide for museums and heritage sites. Visitors scan a QR code or enter an exhibit number to hear stories in their own language—app optional (works instantly in the mobile browser). You can add an optional branded app if you want one.

How do visitors access a tour?

Do visitors need to install an app?
The app is optional. Pathoura works in the mobile browser. For kiosk/lockdown or a native feel, you can offer an optional app.
Does it work offline or in thick-walled buildings?
Yes. Visitors can preload tracks at the entrance; audio saves to the device and plays anywhere (basements, thick walls, historic houses). Updates sync when they’re back online.
Which languages are supported?
All major languages. Upload human-recorded audio or use high-quality neural text-to-speech (TTS). Both the interface and the content can be localized.
Can we add images and text, or is it only audio?
Audio-first, with optional photos, captions, transcripts, and short texts.
How do we manage content?
A simple CMS: create exhibits, add photos, write descriptions, record or upload MP3/WAV, generate TTS, assign numbers, and print QR codes. Bulk import is available.
How long does setup take?
Many sites launch in a day. Start with a pilot (e.g., 10–20 exhibits), then expand.
Can we collect donations inside the tour?
Yes. Add donate prompts at key stops and tour endings. One-tap Apple Pay/Google Pay or card via Stripe.
Do you take a cut of donations?
Donations go to your Stripe account (Online payment platform). Pathoura doesn’t add a platform fee; standard Stripe processing fees apply.
Do we need special hardware or beacons?
No dedicated devices required. Print small QR labels/signs. Pathoura runs on visitors’ phones (iOS/Android) and modern browsers.
Is visitor data private? Are you GDPR-ready?
Visitors don’t need accounts. We minimize and anonymize analytics, and you control data retention. GDPR-ready by design.
What if we already have content elsewhere?
Bulk import via CSV/JSON and media upload from Drive/Dropbox or URLs. We can also mirror public podcast feeds or existing audio libraries.
Does Pathoura work for schools or groups?
Absolutely. Create curriculum-linked tours and share a class QR. Works well for outreach and traveling exhibits.
Can we restrict access (e.g., members only)?
Yes. Set unlisted tours, access codes, or link gating from your CRM/ticketing.
How is it hosted and secured?
Hosted on modern cloud infrastructure with global CDN and HTTPS. Payments are PCI-compliant via Stripe. Automated backups and role-based access.
